The Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts (AMFA), formerly known as the Arkansas Arts Center, is an art museum in Little Rock, Arkansas, located in MacArthur Park. The museum is undergoing expansion and renovation. During this time, it is closed to the public. It is scheduled to be complete and ready for the grand opening at MacArthur Park in April 2023.

The museum features a permanent collection of art along with occasional special exhibitions. Other parts include a research library and rooms for several art education classes. It also includes a restaurant and gift shop. Many of the facilities such as the main atrium and the lecture hall can be rented for special events. The North American Reciprocal Museum Association is a member of the museum. In 2011, Arkansas.com named it one of the top 10 attractions in the state.

History of Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts 

The museum was founded in 1937 as the Little Rock Fine Arts Center, and it has grown significantly over the years. In 1961, the museum moved to its current location in MacArthur Park, and in 2000, it was officially renamed the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts.

The museum's collection includes over 16,000 works of art, including pieces by famous artists such as Rembrandt, Degas, and Picasso, as well as significant holdings of American art, especially works by artists from Arkansas and the surrounding region. The museum also has an extensive collection of contemporary crafts, including works in ceramics, glass, fiber, and metal. In addition to its permanent collection, the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts also hosts temporary exhibitions throughout the year, as well as a variety of educational programs and events. The museum is committed to serving the local community and has developed numerous partnerships with schools and other organizations to increase access to the arts for all Arkansans.
